dc.description.abstractCloud computing has emerged as a transformative technology in higher education, offering universities cost-effective, scalable, and flexible solutions for data storage, computing power, and collaborative learning. This study investigates the implementation of cloud computing in a Zimbabwean university, focusing on the factors influencing adoption, the challenges faced, and the opportunities available for advancement. The study employs the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) as a conceptual framework to analyze how technological, organizational, environmental, and individual factors affect cloud computing adoption. Using a qualitative research approach, purposive sampling was applied to select key participants, including IT staff, faculty members, and students. Data was collected through surveys, interviews, and document analysis, ensuring a comprehensive understanding of the adoption process.Findings reveal that technological factors, such as security and infrastructure readiness, significantly impact cloud computing adoption. Organizational factors, including leadership support and budget constraints, also play a critical role. Additionally, environmental influences, such as government regulations and internet connectivity, and individual perceptions, including user familiarity and resistance to change, affect the implementation process. Despite these challenges, the study identifies opportunities for advancing cloud computing, such as leveraging international partnerships, improving local ICT policies, and enhancing digital literacy among university stakeholders. The research contributes to the existing literature by highlighting the Zimbabwean context and proposing strategies for successful cloud computing adoption in higher education. The findings will assist university administrators, policymakers, and IT professionals in making informed decisions to enhance cloud computing integration, ultimately improving teaching, learning, and administrative efficiency.en_US
